As a Brit, I was told this was a sign of emergency... Maybe they are trying to say something?
United Kingdom
General community for news/discussion in the UK.
Less serious posts should go in !casualuk@feddit.uk or !andfinally@feddit.uk
More serious politics should go in !uk_politics@feddit.uk.
Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.
Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.
Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.
If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.
Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.
Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.
As shitty as our country is, it's full of great people, too. I don't think it's TOO big of a stretch to suggest it might have been deliberate. Tons of veterans return further left than when they enlisted, certainly a few have read Simple Sabotage Field Manual.pdf
Remember this: Freedom is a pure idea. It occurs spontaneously and without instruction. Random acts of insurrection are occurring constantly throughout the galaxy. There are whole armies, battalions that have no idea that they’ve already enlisted in the cause.
A common belief but no evidence to support it.

My first thought too!
We could send over Sharpe, a bunch of redcoats, Robson & Jerome, and Our Girl from Our Girl over, and they’d sort everything out in time for afternoon tea.
I'm just going to presume it's because the majority of the US is thick as fuck, rather than this being done on purpose
Plenty in the UK don't know which way up it should be - I got into a lengthy argument with somebody recently who insisted it was a left/right issue and had nothing to do with where the flag pole might be.
Seems kinda fitting, things are a bit shit right now.
