When I hear "Greta Thunberg skip flotilla amid sexual misconduct allegations" I automatically think Israeli soldiers kidnapping and raping the other crew.

Wait so the "victims" of the sexual misconduct denied that they made allegations of sexual misconduct and the "perpetrator" cleared of any sexual misconduct.

So the whole thing is basically manufactured drama...

Manufactured drama, manufactured consent. It's one giant factory of lies.

100% and it is so dumb, Imagine blocking aid because the driver had sex at some point

[–] Aceticon@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 1 week ago

This is even better than that: it's Guilt By Association on top of Manufactured Drama.

It's clutching at straws without there even being any straws.

They're so obsessed with her. It's really creepy.

It’s because what she’s doing works and inspires others. A whole generation in fact.

She shows no signs of stopping either, and never takes the bait. She’s everything right in this world, and carries a simple and true message.

Journalists, I think, pick someone they think will be easy to bully and stick to harassing that person regardless of whether they succumb to the pressure or not

I don't know if the people working at the NY Post should really be considered "journalists."

"monstering"--to hound, abuse, interrogate and otherwise ruin the life of a public figure in the name of journalism.

The recent anti-Hasan campaign has really illuminated how much they will twist and amplify every little thing they can.

?? No.

Hassan Piker is a knobhead and has done absolutely nothing for your cause. He is a negative impact.

You win there by just admitting he is not a socialist and no longer being emotionally swayed by whatever shenanigans journalists are writing about him

[–] Lenins_Dumbbell@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 1 week ago

Tbf, I wouldn't say he's done nothing. He has a platform, and his messaging has been more leftist than nearly every other politician in the US.

He's not Lenin, but he's not a random nobody either

NYPost editors have been tipped by the fossil fuel mega-donors extra-handsomely to turn Greta Thunberg into the National Enquirer equivalent of Batboy. She shows up in grainy photographs with weird headlines on a near daily basis to the point of being a mythological figure within the western reactionary media.

You're going to see conservatives tell stories about the Loch Ness Monster, the Chippacabra, and Greta Thunberg in the same breath in another few years.

The NY Post being dishonest? Shocker!

[–] CocaineShrimp@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Aannnddd there goes any credibility that the New York Post had left. Adding them to my naughty list

[–] 5oap10116@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

No. They've been a right-wing rag for decades. People sometimes make the mistake of taking them seriously because their name sounds like the sort of thing a serious newspaper would have.

I think the person I'm replying to already knows this, but I'm posting it anyway for the benefit of anyone else reading.

Murdock owned, they really suck :(

Better late than never. Welcome to the bright side.

Now comes the real test, will you be willing to accept that SO MANY of the things you believed to be true about the enemies of Capital were manufactured lies? Especially about the so-called geopolitical adversaries of the US.

Fun fact, Thiago Ávila ran together with 3 other people in a collective mandate as a federal district deputy in the 2018 election. They didn't win.

Another fun fact: I voted for the collective
