Didn't they already collect millions of funding from companies for this in the form of donations? Where has that money gone, oh right straight into Trumps pockets.

[–] krisevol@lemmus.org 8 points 5 days ago (1 children)

It is already funded, but the money can't be used yet because of the lawsuit.

If this surprises you in the slightest, I have news for you, and they are not good.

Maybe we can handle just one "new?"

[–] notwhoyouthink@lemmy.zip 21 points 5 days ago (1 children)

The same people that call literally any government spending a waste and an assault on their pockets?!

Oh I see, it’s ok when it’s their guy.

Don't worry the next democrat president will be blamed for all of trump and republican spending from before but act like it all happened under the new president

This thought comes to me often too, and how well it’ll work regardless. I also believe that Republicans also know this and use it to their advantage.

I wish we didn’t live in a political environment entirely propped up on personal grievances.

Sooo... staged an assassination attempt to try to get public support to pay for a fucking ballroom with taxes? Incredible.

the people who believed that bullshit for >1 nanosecond also thought mexico was going to pay for the wall

[–] Sharkticon@lemmy.zip 17 points 5 days ago

We are gonna have to eventually rebuild that wing that he illegally tore down i suppose but I'll be damned if im paying one red cent to build Trump's new pedo palace.

This won't get built any time soon. Dems should introduce a bill to fund the restoration of the east wing from its illegal destruction.

[–] Kyrgizion@lemmy.world 17 points 5 days ago (1 children)

The idea isn't to build it, it's to grift endlessly while it gets built and never finished.

Just like the expressways in my city!

Stop calling it a ballroom, it’s the Trump-Epstein Scrotum of Terra-Interred Security, or TESTIS.

[–] humanspiral@lemmy.ca 2 points 5 days ago

wtf... theoretically, Trump has already received the ballroom donations. While I'm tired of the shooting scam spectacles, it is a sacrifice I prefer to make, rather than pay for this.
