Imagine a culture that celebrates a writer and encourages kids to read. In the meantime, check out these sick agitprop merchs and public murals

Lu Xun was a noted supporter of the Chinese Communists

[–] KuroXppi@hexbear.net 11 points 4 days ago

If he was such a red, why did he popularise the {白话|white speech} writing movement, huh berdly-smug

Oh good the New York Times is where I go for all my Lu Xun coverage.

Shut the fuck up assholes, Americans can’t name any of their “famous writers”. Do you have a small economy built around Mark Twain tourism? Melville? Hawthorne? Emerson? Fuck you. Fuck toy so much.

Can you imagine how hard any place in the US would whitewash Twain’s anti imperialism? Fuck you.

The average NYT reader probably couldn't even tell the difference between 20th century Lu Xun, Later Han-era Wu general Lu Xun, and the fictional version of Later Han-era Lu Xun from Romance of the Three Kingdoms

Very positive of you to think that the average NYT reader has ever even heard of Lu Xun.

Lu Xun, who I'm sure NYT subscribers read

Not one single mention of "but at what cost", I'm disappointed.
