AFAIK there was someone who was accused of having an AI pet in their post. So now people are posting their AI-free pets.

This post started it. I thought the sentiment was funny, so I posted my dog with a similar title. It caught on, ig. I haven't seen this much activity in /aww ever, so I'm pretty happy with it becoming a trend. Lots of little cuties out there.

Some jackass probably said something dumb about upvoting pets that weren’t AI and people who think Lemmy works like Reddit started googling pet pictures for free karma? *looks around nervously*
