MEPs: generally US-skeptical
Council: mixed opinions on the US, by issue
EU Commission: follows the US' lead on everything
Shouldn't the Commission be taking at least some of its cues from elected leaders?

EU commission is where EU politicians are sent by their parties when they are too corrupt and/or unpopular in their own country. Itβs by design.
As far as I'm concerned, the Commission is nominated by the Council, and elected by the Parliament. Parliament can force resignation, if necessary, by a two-thirds majority vote.
If Europe is to remain European, we must be able to fend for ourselves, being fully independent from the US, yet making sure the US depends on us.
and unfortunately they have a lotbof power
I do wonder why don't they just send them home
Fucking spineless
Clueless too
Don't succumb to bullies. Protect your citizens.
No, USA must go it alone. No please eu, execute the laws that we have now.
Big EU Commission L as per usual. Maybe we should rename them to EU Corruption?
The whiplash of dreaming about resisting Americans in Europe and waking up to read this...
There's the old management addage a"you're better off having someone with you in the tent pissing out, than having them outside the tent pissing in". HOWEVER, the ego, power and control of these pissers is far beyond the usual parameters for that practical guidance.
The problem is if they're already in the tent, and are still pissing in. Then keeping them in just gives them reach.
Unfortunately, this doesn't account for the US shitting in the tent.
If I could give you 10 upvotes for this most suitable update to the adage, I would!
That is an absolutely wild addage
Its quite an old adage, I think. Pissing in or out of tents isn't typical management language
Trump has made it illegal for states to regulate AI.
Anybody who is wanting to be "collaborating" with Trump on regulating for safety, or for economic-safety .. is delusional/incompetent.
Stand your ground, XOR you're being .. harvested, as prey.

Yeah, this.
If there's a race for AI (debatable), the US wins because of its lack of regulation. We should not even want to compete.
