A place for optimism, relentless positivity, anti-doomerism, and snuggle sessions.

We're all in this together, and a better world is possible!

This is now also a space for organizing tips for our collective survival as we confront climate change and everything else. Still no doom-posting. We're here to work together, support each other, and boldly face the future.

Rules:

  1. Familiarize yourself with the site-wide Code of Conduct

  2. No doom, no gloom, only bloom. There's plenty of room for doomerism elsewhere. This community is solely for having a positive outlook on the future and spreading good vibes.

  3. Be kind to your fellow users. This also means no arguing in the comm. Arguments and negativity are not conducive to blooming. Constructive discussion is good. No interest-policing. Support your comrades in their joy!

  4. Always share good news. We can't exactly enforce this one, but if you have good news, please share it with us! Keeping happiness and positivity to yourself is the twelfth type of liberalism.

These are chaotic times where anything can happen. There are more people questioning what the entire US project stands for than there ever has been before in my entire life. Now more than ever, it is important to have hope. You matter, the things you do matter. I have faith in you. If you are able to organize, now would be a great time (it's always a great time, but now especially)

Improving our conditions and caring for each other is built into human DNA. It is inevitable.

We're in the rapids now. It feels like we're sliding into open fascism, but I have hope that they overplayed their hand and tied themselves too tightly to the current establishment.

Most avg people I meet and those through my job (addiction rehab in rural Midwest) all seem tired as Hell with the current admin, heck I've seen quite a few FDT hats and pins on pissed of old people. I think fascism trying to tie itself to Trump as reactionary conservatism did a major disservice to it given it's committed two immortal sins for Americans: gas is expensive and the overall feeling of daily life is too unpredictable to easily go to sleep (ICE raids, airport fuckery, poor employment and economy). Will revolution come from this? No idea but there's energy present at least.

We need to hope the US does not go "cancel elections" mode. I know most here are ambivalent about bad stuff happening to the empire on a good day, but this level of bad thing would actaully be bad for the world at large. The US needs to lib out and circle the drain as it declines, not start a world war.

And to take a hit off the Bloom OG we are passing around, I hope that after Palestine, Venezuela, and Iran, the appetite for any sort of military incursion is repulsive among the USian electorate, although they can't be fully trusted with that.

Some old boy from China said "all under heaven is in chaos the situation is excellent" and he was cooking.

I'll actually be going to my first PSL event today. I'm doing the thing! (So long as I get over my social anxiety, which I feel like I can do for something this important).

it occurred to me a few minutes after i wrote that, that it's actually been over 20 years since i got involved and then i also realized that 2004 wasn't 12 years ago; i hate how getting old plays with your memory like this. lol

I hope that China grows enough as a global power to at least provide similar pressure as USSR to force concessions for the global working class

I feel hope with the US withdrawing from west asia but feel even worse thinking about our inevitable climate disaster and our already bad water drought that will be unbearable in a year or few kitty-birthday-sad

Sometimes I can’t help but wonder if humanity is worth saving, but I want to be more optimistic and am trying to be so.
