I've always wanted to try an overnighter
You should find a place that is short and comfortable and do it.
Even if it's just a fireroad headed up to a campsite with one interesting thing to look at in between.
Easiest way is to get a rack on the back of the bike and put some panniers on and a big set of straps on the handlebars to lash things to.
