The true party of hope and peace unquestioningly backs a warmongering, colonizing, child raping piece of shit. Everyone knows that.

I don't think Brown ever strongly associated himself with the then-new Republican Party of the time, though I might be wrong.
In any case, certainly John Brown was not a Democrat, as that was unambiguously the party of conservatism and slavery at the time.
