Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Tehran skeptical of president’s offer – and troop deployments for potential ground operations – suggest claim of imminent end to war not credible

Somewhere between the strait of Hormuz and the screens of Bloomberg terminals around the world, the standard laws of cause and effect appear to have been suspended for Donald Trump’s war in Iran.

Trump this week soft-launched his latest Iran peace talks – which he has said must be accepted or “we’ll just keep bombing our little hearts out” – with few details or proof that anyone in the Iranian regime was willing to listen to him. The ultimatum was described as “maximalist” by Iran and quickly derided as a non-starter by analysts and former government officials.

Iran’s response to the 15-point plan appeared to be a resounding no, demanding instead that Tehran be given sovereignty over the strait of Hormuz, in effect confirming its control – or at least veto power – over the world energy trade.

I'm so fucking tired of US media going along with MAGA propaganda.

Trump never had any intentions to seek peace. He's been deploying troops to the ME this whole time because he fully intends to invade Iran and fundamentally destroy the global oil supply chain as a result.

He personally profits off the oil he steals from Venezuela, and wants oil to skyrocket in price so he can sell it at max value. It doesn't matter if everyone else dies. He's a narcissistic sociopath.

What baffles me is there were a few alleged "leftists" I saw who said Palestine would be better under Try.p because "the genocide didn't happen under his term".

Not only has the genocide been ongoing since the late 1940s, but Trump has handled the entirety of the Middle-East worse than Kamala or Biden ever did.

He's also committed more acts of cruelty, mass murder and genocide than occurred under Biden/Kamala, and is even actively building concentration camps on US soil to commit genocide here.

A lot of those I believe were bots. A lot. However there were a ton of people that were solely focused on Palestine. You're 100% correct in your assessment.

Trump is orders of magnitude worse than anyone we've ever had lead our country.

To this day you'll have dipshits (such as but not limited to the .ml tankies) gleefully proclaim they chose the "anti-genocide" option of refusing to vote for Kamala.

And they rage, cope and evade any accountability when you bring up the fact that a lack of participation always favors the GOP, and Trump is objectively orders of magnitude more genocidal than most prior presidents, or Kamala ever was.

These assholes will tell everyone to sit out the next elections like they were screaming from the rooftops to do in 2024. Theyre too narcissistic to understand the world blames them for Trump too.

Trump is a symptom of american culture. America is a hostage and when trump is gone and a Democrat is president, America is still a hostage.

Not saying don't vote Democrat etc. It'll probably be better for people, but our country is still hostage and I don't think it can actually be fixed. Literally everything is psychologically marketed constantly and we aren't living a natural path of our personal humanity or our nations humanity. We are all professionally groomed. We are products, a service, sold to the highest bidders and the nation is our pimp, and the buyers are the psychopath elites. Even the politicians, cops, upper class etc are played out and used. They are barely above us regulars on the lowest tier, they just believe that achievement of "the American dream" means they are doing something right. We are disposable.

We need a “trump_news” sub for all Trump stuff. So I don’t have to see it. Honestly sick of reading this bullshit. Tell me when he dies or goes to jail.
