Like I've noticed normal people can say sit down and watch a whole movie, or play long stints of video games. Myself on the other hand, if something exciting happens or I get too stimulated, I need to take a break and walk away. Weird right? I noticed it more as I got older, when I was younger I'd normally just binge watch things or play games all afternoon. Today I can only do so much in short spurts, like an hour at a time, or else I get too worked up and stressed out.

Is this on the spectrum or maybe auhd?

you mean like when you get overwhelmed with emotion and need to walk it off before you can focus again?

Kind of yeah, like I need to take frequent breaks and process stuff.

Im not sure I can relate exactly, but I do struggle with prolonged focus. For example, if I play a game on my own, I usually take a break after an hour, or at most 90 minutes. I wish I could do longer sessions solo, but I struggle to do so most of the time. Its different in multiplayer with real people, because Im usually in dialogue, and that helps me keep going for much longer sessions.

I also pause movies at least once or twice when Im on my own. Of course I dont do that when Im watching with guests or relatives. It’s not stress or excitement that makes me pause I just prefer doing things in smaller sessions. My mind tends to wander and I often end up browsing the internet instead.

You could say Im an information fiend. Whether its world news, gaming news, or a show I just watched, I have a constant desire to learn everything about the things Im into.

The only way Ive found to combat my lack of focus is by making things part of my routine. These days, I always paint between 21:00 and midnight, and so far Ive managed to paint at least an hour every day this way.

Im schizophrenic, but I dont think my lack of focus is directly connected to my condition maybe its partly due to my medication. I also tend to sleep too much, which I dont like.

If you want to exchange DMs, Im on Hexbear daily feel free to hit me up.
