"Whaaaaat?? An imperialist ethnostate us ethnicaly cleasing another country??? Imposiblee! /s

[–] MuskyMelon@lemmy.world 11 points 7 hours ago

Easier to report when Israel is not ethnic cleansing.

We have greater fear of the word 'antisemetism' being used inappropriately against us than we are to appropriately speak out or take action to prevent the eradication of semetic people In Palestine and Lebanon. Here in the UK it was unlawful with many arrested for protesting in public or online. We cannot be the hand over evil by staying silent.

We don't, governments are using it as a leverage

[–] MrSulu@lemmy.ml 1 points 4 hours ago

Agreed. I think I intended "we" more collectively

[–] Schlemmy@lemmy.ml 4 points 7 hours ago

They are. Just depends on where you live

The constant indiscriminate killing is insane.

What is even crazier is coming to realize with modern technology it isn't indiscriminate and they may very well know with good accuracy who is dying before they do.

The implications of this type of warfare are beyond chilling.

Calling out Israel’s actions as a country have been declared “anti-Semitic”, and thus a hate-crime.

[–] Mangoholic@lemmy.ml 2 points 9 hours ago

Ironic since anti semitisms definition includes comparing all semites with jews or a jews state.

Israel is the USA's military arm in the middle east, it is doing exactly what it was created to do.

Also, a lot of these borders they're fighting over were arbitrarily created by the USA and UK after WW1&2 (including Israel of course). These borders have nothing to do with the reality on the ground, enemies were mashed together with their mortal enemies and called a country.

This keeps prices of their labor low, for maximum profits. Only the royal families make bank

More like the US is Israel's military arm in the rest of the world

[–] treesquid@lemmy.world 4 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

You got it all wrong. The US doesn't want to do this, Israel wants to do this and have bought enough US politicians to pull it off. The US created a monster and it's in control now. The US also needs a base in the middle east and wants access to Israel's intelligence apparatus. Any time the US tries to flex, Bibi just threatens to make friends with Russia instead, and if the president is a giant pussy like Biden or especially Trump, they fold rather than call the bluff.

[–] brachiosaurus@mander.xyz 2 points 4 hours ago

The US doesn’t want to do this

They are doing it right now and always had do it. War is a profitable businesses and a tool to get power.

[–] BC_viper@lemmy.world 5 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

I think at this point the US is Isreals military arm.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 12 hours ago

Yes very much, funding for universities come from jewish/israeli backers, and MIT is a basically a pipeline to the IDF weapons tech.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 12 hours ago

its also no wonder why they keep targeting IRAN, the original govt before the SHAH was democratic, and they were afraid of nationalization of the oil, so they did a coup and installed the shah which eventually led to the islamic revolution, and they have been trying to get that back since. attacking iran now, likely will ensure the govt remains in place, and the uprising is largely quashed.
