Yeah, the British approach when faced with a Guerilla war was to round up EVERYONE living in the area, depopulating the entire countryside to remove the Boers' support network.
Then they stuck the people in badly managed and badly supplied camps and gave only half (starvation) rations to the families who still had members outside fighting.
British concentration camps in South Africa (1899–1902) were established during the Second Boer War, forcing over 100,000 Boer women, children, and Black South Africans into overcrowded, unsanitary sites. The camps were characterized by severe overcrowding, poor sanitation, inadequate food rations, and a lack of medical care, leading to massive outbreaks of measles, typhoid, and dysentery. Nearly 26,000 Boer women and children died, while over 20,000 Black Africans died
the British operated concentration camps in the South African Republic, Orange Free State, Colony of Natal, and Cape Colony
British officials justified camp as a means to curb guerrilla warfare
The British government has not issued a formal, official apology for the concentration camps used during the Second Boer War (1899-1902).
:(
Which is weird. They should only be apologizing to the native SA. Fuck the boers.
Maybe read up on south African history. But yeah shitty actions by pretty much all involved.
A bit like what ICE is doing now.
Fuckers didn't say thank you once.
/sssssssss
Yeah. Britain invented concentration camps for the Boer Wars.
