Copy pasted from a steam discussion I made that got buried

So for the most part I use steam workshop but I'm trying to install configurable xp gain. So first off is there a way to disable building/crafting/gathering xp without mods to save myself myself the headache. But can't seem to get it to work fully, picking items seems to work but im still getting the constant +2 xp (im assuming from a pal cooking berries non stop)
And this is all on my PC havent tried it on the deck yet.

But the reason I would like to do it manually is I hop between my pc (windows) and steam deck, and figured installing manually would save me the headache of finagling with some linux specific stuff and having to run the NMM app... and all that.

Some important details, I am using the workshop version of UE4SS on my PC, IDK if that makes a difference and I'm just being stupid and using something that doesnt work. However on my deck I have the github version with a protontricks fix and a launch command from a guide.

I feel like this is related to using the steam version but the description wants the mod to be installed in
...\Palworld\Pal\Binaries\Win64\Mods
However there was no mods folder so i made one, didnt work. Then through trial and error found it partially worked in
...\Palworld\Mods\NativeMods\UE4SS\Mods
where there was already a mods folder

And now im here scratching my head wondering if im being stupid

Ok so update still no luck
But redoing as per the mod instructions. Disabled all steam workshop mods, installed the github verion of UE4SS, extracted the folder to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Palworld\Pal\Binaries\Win64\Mods" and the configurable xp gain folder is inside, in both the steam and github version of mods.text added "ConfigurableExpGainDefault: 1" assuming this enables the mod but no luck.

For the XP and material question, you should be able to make adjustments to the world settings to make life easier. To completely disable will require mods.

Modding between Windows and Linux is the same. Drop files where they belong in the game files and hit run in Steam. Game progress will cloud save. Copy mods into game folder on steam deck (or a full copy from your windows machine).

Read the install notes carefully for UE4SS. I think you have to run it to get folders to populate, but manually making them should not cause problems.

For multiple mods that modify the same file, check out PalSchema and Infinite Addons (now called Infinite Mod).

Yeah I already have global xp at half, but im trying this mod to disable crafting xp as i basically get a passive 2 xp from always having berries cooking.

I extract UE4SS into win 64 and the mod into win64/mods, enable what they said to in mods.txt which im thinking is ConfigurableExpGainDefault: 1 and nothing. I disabled all steam workshop mods to make sure theres no interference and its not working

im writing up what ive basically said in this post and my other comment to the page see if the author has any wisdom and/or if im being a dummy.

And I've ran it a couple times now but all relevant folders seem to have been there

Edit: but good to know once I figure out how to get it working its the same on steam deck
