I really hate when the one that looks like it has a secret makes progress and vice versa. Pissed me off a few times in the original God of War.

Which I look forward to playing again when... oh wait Sony isn't doing Steam releases anymore

Steam tag: "choices matter"

I prefer when informed choices matter. Two paths with nothing to base the choice on isn't a fun choice, it is just a coin flip.

Knowing a path is more difficult but has a chance of something rewarding vs easier with less potential reward is an informed choice. Even if there is occasional misdirection it is better to have something to base the decision on.

Yuuup. I'm never gonna forgive Supermassive for killing off my character in Man of Medan because I made the wrong choice at the very beginning of the game.

Spoiler but you should click it anyway

Fuck me for assuming that the experienced diver I'm playing as would know how to handle decompression sickness better than I, some dingus in Kansas. I guess I learned that having one (1) 4.2% ABV beer after surfacing too quickly would prove fatal the next day.

It doesn't even happen during the game. We got the achievement for everyone surviving, and then my character fuckin dies in a cutscene mid credits

Also if you're playing with a full party, you gotta be careful. If your character takes off in the speedboat, they fuck off for the entire game. "When is it gonna get to my turn again?" It doesn't.

And then you reload a save just to find out what was down the left path…

Only to find an empty hallway.

Totally worth it. Will visit again in next play throughs.

There might be something there next time.

I had to put down Moss because I reached the part where one door goes to the DLC area and the other continues the game.

That's... fucking awful design.

I think it is pretty obvious but I had to take VR off to look it up. I didn't want to get back into the game after finding out because my eyes hurt. You can easily replay chapters in the game so design could be a lot worse.

Literally unplayable.
