I never heard run like a girl but "throw like a girl" meant when I was young throwing with just your arm so it's like a pushing motion almost. Like how 4 to 5 year olds throw before they learn to use their core and hips.

I tend to imagine they're picturing me in a lovely dress and freshly-salon'ed hair, wishing it was them, instead... and a mote of pity for them crops up. 🤷🏽‍♂️ Poor li'l guy has wishes he won't allow himself to say out loud. 🥹

I have sparred rounds with quality female muay thai fighters and "throw like a girl" takes on a very different meaning.
