Mere hours after Donald Trump ordered strikes on Iran’s nuclear program last June, his vice president appeared on two separate Sunday shows to hail the success of the mission. JD Vance was so effusive that he used the word “incredible” or “incredibly” four times in less than one minute.

Within hours of Trump’s operation to capture Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro in January, Vance was on X posting a combative defense of the legality of the operation.

It’s now been two weeks since Trump launched a war with Iran, and Vance has yet to offer anything like these public votes of confidence.

Start referring to this administration as the Trump-Vance administration everywhere you go. Don't let him distance himself from any of this shit. Make him unelectable due to his association with Trump.

The Trump-Vance-Epstein Files.

I think he'll be framed as the "sensible" version of "maga" (conservatism) after PEDOnald is out of the picture, and being selectively pro-peace will be part of that framing.

Even though James Bowman is worse given his associations with people like Thiel and books like The Unhumans.

Donnie Dumbass is surely bad enough and is pretty much Faux News come to life, but due to being very stupid and off-the-chart narcissistic, he's not very ideological or very effective at bringing about the really, truly crazy shit that these demons want to do to this country.

James Bowman might be a whole other ball of wax. Thankfully his charisma level is about negative eleventy thousand.

He and Rubio are the nominees for the next Republican convention. The Iran war is slated to be one of the most unpopular wars of our time, that politically & optically will be 10x worse than Iraq.

So to ensure higher viability, he distances himself from the war rhetorically, because Rubio has been critical of the Iran war from the offset.

In short: he wants to ensure that he is competitive against Rubio come primaries & general elections.

Like William Spaniel says: "don't listen to what politicians say, watch what they do" - and this is purely about optics in the future.

The 2028 GOP Convention is going to be the wildest political shitshow imaginable.

Actual human sacrifice isn't off the agenda.

[–] lemmyng@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Let them fight. Not that it'll be much of a fight to begin with. You have the most uncharismatic couch fucker running against the shortest turncoat imaginable.

MTG retired from the Congress at the perfect moment.

I think she'll be a strong contender.

Speaking of short people, I hope DeSantis throws his hat in the ring again and wears heels on the campaign trail.

Its because this cunt wwants the 2028 ticket and he knows its an insanely unpopular war. But since being a Republican requires one to cut off their own balls and hand them to Trump, he can't outright oppose it. He has to stay silent until Trump croaks.

For that matter, the ~30% of Americans who support the war support it solely because Trump started it. The moment that pedophile dies, support will drop to single digits and blame will be thrown to everyone but Trump.

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago

blame will be thrown to everyone but Trump.

I despise how correct this is. Nothing can ever be his fault no matter how directly responsible he is.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

This is so very well said. The Republicans are all nutless wonders. It's in their emotional propensity for Right Wing Authoritarianism (RWA) to line up behind someone like PEDOnald.

[–] Widdershins@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Do you think it is a power move at the white house for trump to shit his pants and then sit in your chair? Or the other way around: sit in your chair and then shit his pants.

[–] daannii@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Yeah this is exactly my sentiment. The only way Vance will become president is if Trump dies during his term. Which is expected.

He doesn't want to inherit this kind of mess.

[–] bufalo1973@piefed.social 13 points 1 day ago (1 children)

He can't do two things at once. It's either praise the war or fuck Erika.

She's got the IQ of a couch, she's a leather bag and probably smells like a decades of buried farts, but not quite a couch.

[–] Redditsux@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

This is the 2028 move.

[–] Zier@fedia.io 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If trump gets impeached & removed after the midterms, he wants to look better than trump when he becomes president. But Americans know that everyone in Trump's government is utter trash, they can never be redeemed.

[–] punkideas@lemmy.world 1 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

There is a non-zero chance that right wing billionaires orchestrate an impeachment to replace Trump with Vance if he keeps footbulleting his way into deep unpopularity. They would let Trump, Hegseth et al be the scapegoat for the unpopular stuff while trying to rebrand back to a faux moderate position.

[–] Zier@fedia.io 1 points 13 hours ago

Yes, we know how easily Vance changes personalities.

[–] ZiggyTheZygote@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 day ago

He was killed by an Iranian drone and the gov doesn't want the public to know about this tragedy because it will bring morale and hope down and the US citizens are not ready yet for such incredibly sad news.

[–] Franconian_Nomad@feddit.org 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Because the war isn’t going the way it was planned.

Vance behaviour as a cowardly scavenger is an excellent litmus test.

[–] MerryJaneDoe@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

You just described everyone in DC

[–] Franconian_Nomad@feddit.org 1 points 1 day ago

Nah, I don’t think so, not everyone. And Vance is not only worse than most in this regard, he’s also very easy to read.

Trump rapes children. He only wishes he could rape the civilians he is killing first but he'll take what he can get here and settle for mass murder.
