Hey, just a friendly check five hours later, have you put away the clean dishes so you'll have a place for the dirty ones?

It's been 8 hours. RIP OP.
It took a little over five hours but the dishes have now been unloaded.
Onto the counter.
At least that means there's room in the dishwasher for each newly dirty dish. You can use a dish from the counter as long as you know all the counter dishes are clean.
Also, it's not vital that the dirty ones be organized correctly when they go in, as long as they face down and center. Ideally one rearranges them just before washing for maximum effectiveness, but sloppily arranged dishes will get cleaned just fine as long as they can't become pools or avoid the spray entirely.
This is painfully relatable
My sink hasn't been full of dirty dishes for weeks! How dare you?!
I see no problem with using an extra precise spoon.
Is this what they mean by "measuring your portions"?
Yay, well done 🎉
