While I agree we need to keep Android as open as possible, I don't know if we will succeed or not, and therefore I am now actively in the process of trying to source a secondary device to install Postmarket OS on so that I can have mainline Linux on a phone and begin playing around with that ecosystem so that if need be, I can leave Android entirely in the future.

I will be unaffected by this for now, because I am running lineage OS with no Google Play services of any kind, but I figure, eventually Google is going to try to integrate stuff like this into AOSP as well, and then that will be the total death of Android, and I want to be somewhat acquainted with Linux mobile before that day occurs.
