This is the first time I've ever seen your username in a regular non-blue font. So you do browse posts like the rest of us lurkers!

Usually when I have the mubble fubbles I know it is time again to take my vitamin D supplements. I dont get nearly enough sun.

I feel so smug right now with my 32 hour, Friday through Sunday work schedule. Four day weekends every week is more impactful on my mental health than absolutely anything else.

Well, this schedule only works if I'm willing to be poor, which I am. Security guards don't make all that much. But I value free time over material goods and hiking/camping is almost free, so it works for me.

I thought the pay was p deece, morality is what got me. Idk what kind of security you're providing, but running car campers out of abandoned big box retail parking lots wasn't a great vibe

Yeah, security can potentially be tricky from a morality standpoint. Luckily I haven't had to deal with any houseless people in my 2 years as a guard. Absolutely nothing ever happens. Once a security company establishes patrols, the houseless people just go somewhere else. And I'm an unarmed guard, completely prohibited from making physical contact with anyone. I'm just there to be eyes and ears, and call the police if a trespasser won't leave when asked.

My weekend gig is at a data center, which is also tricky from a morality standpoint. In my defense, if I quit working there my security company would just send someone else over. And it's a cushy site, with WiFi. I read books and Lemmy all day.

Couple that with those of us that still have to deal with "daylight savings" and you've got yourself the makings of a good 'ole breakdown.

I tend to believe it if it comes from Susie Dent.
