See, it’s not that the observation is necessarily wrong. The problem is that most of the time the people who bring this up are missing the point. Yes, I would prefer that the Russian Federation’s and the Islamic Rep. of Iran’s working masses have more political power, but griping about them over and over again is a waste of time that distracts us from how neoimperialism has been threatening both.

If this were the early 1940s, I wouldn’t distract people from the Fascist bombing of the United Kingdom by spewing ‘But Britain and Germany are both bad.’ Yeah. They are. That isn’t the goddamn point right now.

I really love the quote how an egg broken from the outside is food, but one broken from the inside is life. It's such a perfect allegory for why values cannot be imposed from the outside.

Libs when bombs are dropping be like: "this is the perfect time to talk about the oppressive regime of Iran 🤓"

I would argue that it isn't just a distraction. That same threat is a large contributor to working masses not having more political power.

Add it to the liberal thought-terminating cliché bingo card.

"A broken clock is right twice a day!" should be the free spot

"Two thngs can be true at once" = "Let me ignore one of those things that undermines the logic of my opinion"

Grinds my gears. Fuckers will take their basis for condemning a nation literally from the same outlet they spurn when it shovels justifications for Empire's wars.
