Singapore

Ah yes the infamous south east nation that is within the realm of the water in the middle east.

It depends on where you're needing to go. Especially when you consider that Russian airspace is not an option.

Almost all international flights go through middle eastern airspace. Many international carriers use hubs like Dubai, Doha, and Abu Dhabi which are definitely going to have issues related to the Iran War.

How tall is he? Because if he's 7+ feet tall, I could understand avoiding economy

Much rather catch a bomb with your face than fly economy.

Apparently he is in Singapore trying to get to Sweden. But with Russian and now Middle Eastern airspace off limits to air traffic, Europe to Asia routes are about to get incredibly difficult and expensive.

6"1' could be uncomfortable for a long flight. I've heard of businesses approving business class travel for tall people (with a medical waiver) but the YouTuber does sound clickbaity.

I'm 194cm and am fine on long flights in economy.

I mean are you though? I'm 188cm and am definitely not happy in a long economy flight, not that there's much of a choice for me financially. But, I also have wide shoulders and that's honestly probably more aggravating than my knees brushing the seat in front of me if I think about it.

I'm 6' and fly quite often in regular flights, probably a dozen or so times a year. Never have I thought "man I'm too tall for this, I don't want to fly"

[–] halcyoncmdr@piefed.social 4 points 6 days ago

I'm 6'4" and have always flown economy. Some carriers are better than others, and seats with extra leg room are obviously a thing. It is by no means impossible to fly economy at 6'1".

This is 100% out of touch. I say that as someone that has watched this Youtuber's videos in the past. The fact he not only recorded it, but then edited the footage, and released it without considering that is fucking ridiculous.

Can we get rid of the different classes in airplanes, please?

Just have nice, comfortable chairs something in between e economy and business for everyone

Goes as well for trains, busses, etc. Fuck these "I'm from a better class than you" clowns

Business class is where the airlines get most of their money from. If you remove it, the prices would go up significantly since now they are loosing money on economy and make it up with business

I have no problem with that. Replace loads of shorter distance air travel with high speed rail, cheaper, faster, more comfortable.
