My partner is from Sri Lanka and was so proud of her country for their inbuilt humanitarian bent. People always rally to help someone in distress and they're very well known for that.
They are an insanely gracious people and I admire that so much. I also know this act alone would put them on the US shitlist. But it seems they've gone a step even further, knowing full well there will be costs to what they were about to do, and they still made the most compassionate decision.
