I've been meaning to post this for a while now, but hadn't had the time. For context, I'm a lifelong console gamer that pulled the trigger on a steam deck in August 2025. The Steam Deck has absolutely changed my gaming life with the introduction to PC gaming, but in a more digestible way than going full PC (and not having the hefty buy-in). I still don't know THAT much yet, but the community has been super helpful.

Having said that - as many other posts have mentioned - the Deck is starting to show it's age when it comes to newer games. I buy games like Arc Raiders and E33 on the PS5 just because the performance and graphical quality is just better. I bought Arc Raiders on the deck and I can play it, but it's not the same.

The announcement of the Steam Machine had me rockin' a half chub and I was willingly to throw down whatever for it. As you know, it's probably not happening any time soon due to the GPU and RAM volatility.

So...what's your plan? Do you hold out for the Steam Machine or bite the bullet and just buy a PC to use in tandem with the deck?

There's no wrong answers here, I'm just curious to hear people's opinion on this.
