What a shitty patch, some wind, and two new Arc, great. The game started off great, it's been a good 4 months but I think it's running out of steam, the gameplay loop is just a bit boring, even though it's a really good fun game to play. The Pvp element sucks too, it just feels like the death happens too quickly in Pvp, if the other guy gets a shot in first, 90% of the time, it's over.

Deadline, Trailblazer and Vita Spray have pretty mild requirements, but Wolfpack requiring a rocketeer driver is a brutal nerf. Especially for something that only works against Arc and not other raiders.
Wolfpack takes a rocketeer driver now. Oof
Apparently the large arc parts had their recycle amounts halved. Such a stupid nerf. Are we supposed to fight the big arcs or not? Because with all the changes, the juice isn’t worth the squeeze.
I'm still not seeing any fixes for exploits. If folks can just duplicate whatever or spam grenades infinitely, I'm not inclined to return any time soon.
They fixed duplication issues server-side 2 weeks ago: https://lemmy.ca/post/60216172
There's also a few paragraphs at the bottom about how they're improving exploit detection and increasing bans.
Not a huge fan of weapon rebalancing. It’s ok if some guns are ass. Just make them cheaper. A meta is always going to form so trying to fight it seems pointless. Just make the best gun purchasable from tian wen so everyone has access to it.
Personally I do not like the live service model, I like the game I play in a couple years to be the same game I bought at release. I don’t have a lot of time to play so I miss out on these fast release cycles. I’d rather them delay release until they have enough content and then release expansion packs.
I'm starting to think weapons tiers should be rebalanced around durability, I agree it's perfectly fine for a stitcher to feel better than a purple gun, but then it should wear faster (since its also easier to craft)
Durability and cost tweaking is the best approach in my opinion. I just hate when they nerf a gun and it feels completely different. Especially considering this isn’t a spawn - die multiplayer FPS. PvP is fun, but it’s not the whole point. It doesn’t need to be balanced.
That is not what "live service model" means. It is a means of monetization, e.g. die game is not a product that you can buy once, but a service that you have to subscribe to each month if you want to keep playing.
A game getting regular updates is not the "live service model".
So what's Fortnite then? That gets weekly updates. I thought that was a live service game. 🤷
You are probably right
