a person that was literally born in Cuba...
Would you consider everything and anything an American says about the United States to be true just because they're from the United States?

She also wasn't born in Cuba
Yeah, I saw something over on reddit about how people are now removing that fact from her wiki page lol
Look at this shit:
https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Camila_Cabello&diff=prev&oldid=1339580723
I'm sure it's just a coincidence that this was changed today lmao
It was wild watching it happen in real time. Several accounts all got very concerned with a pop star's birth certificate all of a sudden, deleted it, then had the article locked down from further edits.
Seems very organic, totally nothing fishy going on here at all
Even supposing that she was born in Cuba, the official story is that she left at a month old and lived in Mexico thereafter, so why would it even matter that she was born in Cuba? She hadn't even developed depth perception by the time she allegedly left and we're supposed to act like this completely forgotten experience of being a neonate makes her testimony more valuable.
This is probably the most infuriating thing to me. When they are just flat out lying about something, and then do this kind of "I have no idea why this has upset people so much, I'm just trying to figure out this mystery you guys, they just said something and people are upset for no reason. People just need to learn to stop complaining about things so much!" Especially when the sort of people making these statements are the exact sort of people to kick up a fuss and complain for days on end about every single little thing that doesn't fit their worldview and browbeat it into submission.
The second tweet is at least funny though, it's just purely hostile, no "I'm so concerned for their welfare these poor unfortunate souls who are confused about the issues." It's just pure vitriol and right wing conspiracy theories. Where are these state sponsored trips to communists dictatorships? Can I go on one? Why would they seemingly exclusively be an opportunity to "delusional american leftists who've never left their bedroom" instead of people with actual influence? If this person is so concerned about people never leaving their bedroom, aren't these commie dictatorships doing them a great service by helping them see the world outside of it?
I also love the idea that "actual Cubans" are the only ones allowed to know anything about Cuba, because actual Cubans quite like their country and will happily sing its praises, but somehow I feel like this person only considers someone a "real Cuban" if they haven't set foot on the island since 1959. There's something so pathetic and funny about CHUDs when they do this "only gusano lives matter!" thing. I'm not really sure why. Because of how transparent it is? It reminds me of that kid who would always have some special exception to the rules for themselves so they could always win, even when the rule they are contradicting is one they made up themselves earlier.
Meta (Facebook's parent company) has repeatedly banned, removed, or restricted hundreds of pro-government accounts, pages, and groups in Cuba for engaging in "coordinated inauthentic behavior". These actions,, including the removal of hundreds of accounts in early 2023.
Ah yes, I forgot, it is inauthentic for a Cuban to say anything other than "free us using your stinger missiles and carpet bombing campaigns mighty Americans, our people yearn for freedom!"
I can't find it now, but there was a Facebook post about a woman in Cuba who was "protesting against the government" and that woman commented on the post saying "That's a lie, I support President Díaz-Canel and the Cuban government" and she was banned from Facebook for that. There were also some US media outlets that used images of pro-government protests in 2021 as if they were "protests against the government" and even showed images of Díaz-Canel as if he were just some random guy who was against the government (which shows how much people in the US still think that Fidel and Raúl Castro rule Cuba).
I remember those protest photos! They were the funniest shit, just really showing how ignorant the average westerner is about Cuba (I'm sure most people over here still think Castro is in charge tbh)
One thing that stuck with me from that whole thing was some Miami "Cuban" woman who was plastered all over the internet for crying about her uncle that was "murdered by the evil communist Castro regime"
People started digging into who her uncle actually was, and it turned out he was some police chief under Batista that was literally running a torture dungeon in the basement of his police station, complete with custom torture instruments made to order by some mechanic friend of his
So weird how such an upstanding guy ended up with a bullet to the neck right lmfao
stopping the embargo
starting the bombing
Its hilarious that Meta bans Cubans living in Cuba from posting. Meanwhile they allow all sorts of AI slop and bots to invest their platforms.

I think they are referring to the DSA trip to Cuba a couple of years ago.
The one where the DSA members did everything they could to denounce Cuba? It's like fractal contradiction, every layer of this nonsense contradicts itself further the more you look at it.
To be fair that was just one of the members going off on their own. Still doesn't reflect well on the DSA though, no serious socialist org would have chosen such a person for their delegation to begin with.
This has come up before, and I don't know why it keeps getting downplayed. It wasn't just one rogue member going off on their own. It was a sizeable faction of the group that followed one of the top leaders who organized the trip, who (along with many others) went to speak with the pro-US opposition instead of the planned meeting with Diaz-Canel in a very blatant snub.
https://redstarcaucus.org/cuban-links/
Throughout the trip, members of the delegation from the Reform & Revolution Caucus (R&R) and the Socialist Majority Caucus (SMC) criticized the Cuban government both to our Cuban hosts and other DSA members, and skipped out on multiple delegation events. Most shamefully, both Maria (representing R&R) and Renée (representing SMC, and a member of the current NPC) skipped out on meeting with President Díaz-Canel, who spent more than 2 hours in a frank discussion specifically addressing the critiques these very same DSA members brought up to their Cuban hosts earlier on the trip
This behavior from the R&R and SMC delegates is anti-democratic, disorganizing, and chauvinistic. For a resident of the imperial core to go to a socialist state that has survived a U.S. blockade for multiple generations and critique its achievements as incomplete is the height of chauvinism. To reject the democratically-decided purpose of the delegation – which was to support Cuba against the U.S. blockade – and instead insert their individual political goals of making connections with opposition groups and advocate for Cuban government reform is anti-democratic. If the delegates from R&R and SMC wanted to make connections with government opposition groups and advocate for liberalization they should have applied to other delegations instead of the socialist one. Or they could have stayed at home; many other applicants who were aligned with the delegation's goals were not able to attend due to limited seats on the delegation.
Not an insignificant number of other DSA members throughout the org at the time were defending the actions of the snubbers, going so far as citing Cuba's "authoritarianism" as usual. Hell, even here on hexbear there was a long-standing regular poster who got permabanned (or perhaps temp-banned but chose never to return?) for insisting these actions were either not a big deal or were the correct thing to do. This gross betrayal goes a lot further and deeper than a single rogue member.
I honestly thought there was only one of them, so I stand corrected.
I'd never deliberately try to downplay how dogshit the DSA is. As I've said before, blatant support of the DSA would be a bannable offense if I was running this place lmao.
The one where the DSA members did everything they could to denounce Cuba?
Yes there was a splinter group that protested. Just another day in the DSA!
It's always quite predictable how much liberals lap up these stories serving an agenda of a president they supposedly oppose. No analysis, no questions, no thoughts. They were bamboozled by "Venezuelans" just last fucking month. Liberals above and beyond anything are reactionary kneejerk moralists, and the propagandists know it.
Aligning with the Nazis to own the authoriTANKIES, a true liberal classic
SHE WAS BORN IN FUCKING MEXICO SHUT THE FUCK UP
