A classmate of mine was Muslim.
He didn't drink liquor, only wine.
Cause while the Quran says intoxicants are of the devil, it also says in heaven there will be rivers of pure water, milk, honey and wine.
So that can't be against Allah's will.

A friend of mine had an on-paper conversion so that his inlaws wouldn't kick his future wife out for marrying a non Muslim.
They both joke that Allah seems most upset about alcohol when the wife's relatives are visiting.
Explanation: Muslims are forbidden by their faith to drink wine, and this is usually taken to mean all alcohol. Despite this, Muslim alchemy was instrumental not only in the development of modern chemistry, but also in the development of the necessary tools and processes to create hard liquor!
... but some schools of Islamic law hold that it's only wine that's forbidden, and other forms of alcohol are permissible.
