Went for a boogie last night, ended up walking home (only 4km) at 5am like the good ol' days.

It's a very calm walk that takes you over the johnson st. bridge which I'd say has one of the better views of the city. Didn't see a soul on that walk. Just you, the footpath and the mission.

Hiked Mt Oberon today. If it counts as a hike, the track was very well formed.

Fusili pasta with baked beans, jalapenos, cheese, onion powder, a little pasta sauce, pepper, and tobasco.

I tell you what, I must have been chronically low on jalapenos and beans or something because GODDAMN it hit the spot!

I wonder what it's like to have a full night of uninterrupted sleep?

What mythical beast is that?

The old ones speak of it in hushed whispers

[โ€“] stylusmobilus@aussie.zone 4 points 2 months ago

Yeah thatโ€™d be great. A helicopter flew over here at 2am or so and I havenโ€™t been able to sleep since.

[โ€“] Alamutjones@aussie.zone 4 points 2 months ago

I think Iโ€™ve done this once in the last two years. It was nice, but unrepeatable

After pirating it for 22 years I've decided to buy Ableton Live which I use for music.

Fair is fair.

Fellow millennials.

I bring news:

The website: onio.club is pretty much the internet from when we were in high school.

Does anyone know what analogue cream is? Does it have a smoother and warmer profile than digital cream?

analogue cream

[โ€“] TheWitchofThornbury2@aussie.zone 6 points 2 months ago (2 children)

I shall add this to the list of proper tributes to the new goddess Aspartame. That is, Aphrodite's whiny younger sister. So far her tributes are : sugar substitutes, "diet" soft drink, vegan bacon, analogue cream, carob 'chocolate', anything marketed as a vegan "burger" or "sausage", and plant mylks of any kind. The goddess of fake food.

For crying out loud, please, if you are going to go vego (and why not) then embrace it! Enjoy all the wonderful vegetarian & vegan food available. Don't do fake shit that only looks like the real thing and is full of salt & fillers and 'modifiers' etc. That stuff just can't be good for you.

/rant over

[โ€“] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Can I please add to this list, chicken & beef "flavoured" stock cubes that have no hint of chicken nor beef in them?

Kids these days would look at this cream and not even be able to tell what time it is

[โ€“] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 4 points 2 months ago

Clayton's. The cream you have when you're not having cream.

I assume it tastes like shit.

[โ€“] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

You smear it over the mixing desk and say a prayer. Then an audiophile appears and tells you it sounds amazing.

[โ€“] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 3 points 2 months ago

I heard it helps glue your midrange together if applied evenly

Yeah Iโ€™m moving this meat to the freezer as I wonโ€™t be able to cook it today. Right now the focus is getting things back up off the floor and doing laundry including the clothes that fell in case of any flea eggs.

My BigDubya stick vac works impressively for the size and quality but itโ€™s too late to use it right now. I wish it was quieter. Itโ€™s such a hassle to vacuum with a thing that screams but the quieter stick vacs in my budget donโ€™t pick up a thing.

I wish my sleep schedule would correct ๐Ÿซฉ

Iโ€™m also late with meds because cat wonโ€™t come out of the hidey hole. I just had to reach in at a contorted angle to give an oral syringe one handed and blind.

[โ€“] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 4 points 2 months ago

I had a fairly productive day today. A couple of loads of washing done. Yoghurt made. Some cloth hemmed and shaped for the straining of yoghurt tomorrow. Lawn mown.

Oh good. The neighbour who likes to burn things on their smoker 24/7 bought a home karaoke machine to add to the fun.

Fight back. By a cheap drumkit and let out your frustrations.

Invest in a trombone or trumpet and join in the music making. It is not necessary to play the same tune.

beach done, I walked all the way to the big mangroves, it was a little iffy, the sand is unstable because of the underlying silt , it was so quiet tho, I could hear nothing but birds and water and just smelt nature . Five hundred metres closer to Point Little I could smell civilisation again, a bit of smoke, dust, sunscreen. Found a cool big cork from a fishing net and some nice shells.

[โ€“] useless_modern_god@aussie.zone 4 points 2 months ago (2 children)

I desire meatloaf now. A moist meatloaf.

[โ€“] Eagle@aussie.zone 6 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I make a beautiful one, with a layer of scotch eggs through the middle, then its wrapped in bacon and cooked. Tip it out onto a flat baking tray and top with mashed potatoes and cheese and back in the oven... its awesome.

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I bet mr seagoon would like this recipe

[โ€“] Eagle@aussie.zone 4 points 2 months ago (3 children)

As you can see, its a well used page of the potato recipe cook book.

confession

I have never had meatloaf. Not ever.

[โ€“] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 5 points 2 months ago

It's like a giant sausage roll without pastry. Must be served with mashed potato and gravy. Delicious.

[โ€“] Alamutjones@aussie.zone 4 points 2 months ago (3 children)

I have marketed

The spoils

  • Peri peri (peri?) marinated chicken
  • A bit of venison from the fancy game shop in the deli-hall. It was a good price, I quite like venison and I rarely have it. @TheWitchofThornbury2@aussie.zone , since I saw you mentioning you were fond of rabbit, I also saw whole rabbits for $25 and they were willing to joint them for you
  • Milk
  • Blackberries
  • Blueberries
  • Raspberries
  • Nashi pears, my beloved
  • Eggplant
  • Zucchini
  • Capsicum, red and green
  • Spinach
  • Green beans
  • Broccoli
  • Bok choy
[โ€“] TheWitchofThornbury2@aussie.zone 3 points 2 months ago (8 children)

Whole rabbits for $25? Scandalous. I think I'll borrow one of the neighbourhood greyhounds and take a walk down Merri Creek. Still, it's nice to know that one can still buy bunnymeat. Thanks for keeping an eye out for me!

8I've never used telehealth for a script before, but I've procrastinated too long to book an appointment with my GP, and now I've run out of meds I need! Curious to see how it goes, I requested the appointment about 15 mins ago and now I'm just chilling, not sure when to expect the call.

Edit: ok they just called me, about 20m after I booked. Took about 3 minutes on the phone confirming I've been on the medication for ages. They asked for a photo of last script, and said after the call I'd be given the option to upload it. I've now received my script but no option to upload pic, I guess I'm all set though!
