Nah, they have drugs on board.

Everyone who supports the war on drugs bears some responsibility for this.

What's the real purpose here? It's not drugs.

To flex their muscle ultimately ending in tighter control over "THEIR sphere of influence". They see the rise of China as a loss of their monopolar power (rightfully so) and so they stake their claims by committing acts of terror so brazen, it sends a message to all other Global South countries.

According to a statement from Southern Command, the three attacks were carried out late Monday against alleged “narco‑terrorists,” in the Trump administration’s words. Two of the strikes took place in the eastern Pacific, each killing four men. In the third attack, in the Caribbean, three people were killed. “No U.S. military forces were harmed,” the military command said. “At the direction of the commander of U.S. Southern Command, Marine Gen. Francis L. Donovan, Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted three lethal kinetic strikes on three vessels operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations,” Southern Command said in the statement, which — as has become customary — was accompanied by a video showing the boats exploding after being hit by a missile. “Intelligence confirmed the vessels were transiting along known narco-trafficking routes and were engaged in narco-trafficking operations,” it added. The new strikes follow another one last Friday, in which U.S. Armed Forces destroyed a fourth alleged drug‑running boat with a missile, killing its three crew members. Since September 2, when Trump announced the first attack on a vessel allegedly involved in drug trafficking, Washington has acknowledged more than 40 strikes, which have left around 150 people dead.

Even if they were involved in the drug trade, and that's a big if coming from this administration that told us Ms. Good tried to run over the cops, and Mr. Pretti was a domestic terrorist intending to massacre law enforcement, and lied about multiple videos in the public domain showing irrefutable proof they were lying. That still haven't admitted they were wrong even as they back down. Like a corporation paying a lawsuit without admitting guilt, the powerful NEVER admit a mistake nowadays, at most blaming it on underlings. (Imagine generations of people emulating these pieces of shit, that is where we are at, admitting a mistake and pledging to do better, explaining how one would prevent such a mistake again, is perhaps the most important element in a good leader.)

They are fundamentally, constitutionally dishonest. I've no faith the summarily executed aren't the unfavorites of oligarchs that paid off the administration to kill them, or any manner of skullduggeried corruption.

Even if they are involved in the drug trade, it's often poor fishermen being used for these drug runs. These are nobodies ,paid paltry amounts to risk life and limb by cartels. Killing them doesn't hurt the cartels anymore than losing the ship and cargo does, which is accomplished by simply seizing it. It hampers unravelling the operations killing them rather than seizing it.

There is no good reason to kill them. There are few bad reasons too. The only real explanation here, is the administration, and that's the party, the president's handlers, he doesn't know what is going on at this point they are leading him around by the hand, telling him when to bark, the party wants to set the precedents of them killing people on the open ocean without cause.

Same as they wanted to set the precedent of federal agents occupying american cities, of attacking peaceful protesters, and executing them without cause, and of course most importantly of labeling them domestic terrorists based on their own proclamations, and everything that goes along with that, like extra tools to persecute anyone connected to them.

They want to completely dismantle any checks on them, from votes they are fixing, to anything that prevents them from turning any part of America into Gaza, to be able to dismantle completely any organization that opposes them, all the way to executing people without cause, from the streets of american cities to the open water of the ocean.

The executive branch is seeking absolute power, under the Republican Party. This doesn't end with the president. The democrats had a chance to stop them in 2021 and declined to do so, so everyone gave up and surrendered to the republicans as their winning was now a fait accompli.

Listen, the US revolutionary war was fought on lies, the declaration and constitution documents full of lies, pledge to fabric a lie, stated ideals and goals lies, so anyone imagining anything coming from US puppet-government is either extremely naive at best, intellectually disabled, or willfully lying to themselves and others in order to milk whatever slim and slimmer-by-the-moment benefits from the rank corruption they reap or imagine themselves to reap, at worst.

If we want things to get better, we have to make it better.
