Enough Musk Spam

For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.

No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.

Opinions from all sides of the political spectrum are welcome here. However, we kindly ask that off-topic political discussion be kept to a minimum, so as to focus on the goal of this sub. This community is minimally moderated, so discussion and the power of upvotes/downvotes are allowed, provided lemmy.world rules are not broken.

Post links to instances of obvious Elon Musk fanboy brigading in default subreddits, lemmy/kbin communities/instances, astroturfing from Tesla/SpaceX/etc., or any articles critical of Musk, his ideas, unrealistic promises and timelines, or the working conditions at his companies.

Tesla-specific discussion can be posted here as well as our sister community /c/RealTesla.

It's distressing that a non-zero amount of medical professionals will use this without disclosure or consent.

As someone who works in the field I can say that despite what it may seem I have never seen anyone not take HIPAA laws seriously. With that said i am sure you are right, but those people are the worst of the worst and most likely already breaking other laws as well.

It's already happening, unfortunately. I work medical field adjacent and our org now has an AI committee, approved by legal. Several of the members, while good providers, are completely tech illiterate and love chatgpt. They were chosen specifically because they'll be AI yes men due to not actually understanding what LLMs are and the extreme negatives of using them in academia and the medical field.

Elon is right. A couple of weeks back I uploaded an x-ray of my lung carcinoma and within seconds Grok provided me with an AI image of me as a young naked girl.

Translation: we haven’t been able to get around HIPAA, so please voluntarily give us your data.

My step mom has started second-guessing her doctor with ChatGPT.
Then she goes back to her doctor and confronts him with its nonsensical recommendation.
And he has to explain to her why it's bullshit.
Which, of course, she then asks AI if what he says is right.

But what's a lot scarier is that doctors have started using ChatGPT for diagnostics, too.

AI's can be useful for medical questions to check what kind of diseases match certain symptoms and if going to a doctor is needed, but I sure wouldn't trust them over a doctor after already going to a doctor

It's so fun that we get to watch the collapse of civilization unfold in real time. It's a real treat.

I don’t know if I’m more unsettled by the privacy breach or the idea that an LLM is as good as or even better than a doctor…

That first one is true, the second one isn't.

4.20 hur dur so clever. And to think these chucklefucks are homosapiens. At least until grok can vibe code itself.

People are going to do this. It should be a crime, but here we are.

For people that can't afford health care.
