The numbers were pretty different between Trump and other presidents but I hear you, it's wrong either way. I still think it's important to emphasize the scale and cruelty of Trump's concentration camps are way worse.

The only real solution will be to abolish ICE & DHS.

You really gonna sit here and use both sides nonsense in 2026? How embarrassing for you.

You’re really going to let past atrocities go? How disgusting you are.

This is why nothing ever improves, because you move the window further to the right.

Right, the current regime is doing nothing that's orders of magnitude worse. This isn't 2020 anymore goofball.

If the next regime was even worse, would you tell people to stop caring about what Trump did?

You cannot simply keep ignoring the years prior, that only shifts the Overton window to the right.

Appeals to imagination don't work on moderates. You're being unrealistic - always either alarmist or perfectionist.

If one party had to pay you to post this, which would be the most eager to... are you even getting paid to shill, or is this your free time?

I get paid by antifa directly.

That's a false dilemma. And it accuses voters of things they haven't ignored.

Get an administration that CAN improve and make them improve. External pressure is wasted on something that can't evolve.

was the biden administration one of those? cause i remember a lot of people saying they weren't going to vote for the dems if they supported genocide. then the dems ignored them and lost an election.

what do you mean "make them improve"?

Biden campaigned in 2020 on, "I am the forced left-wing candidate, but vote for me now and move me later". The campaign worked the first time. Didn't work the second time for some reason.

If both sides are doing it...

It's embarrassing for you to be defending human right abuses by your side.

Man, there was media coverage of horrific conditions in immigrant 'detainment centers' throughout the Biden administration. The difference is, media coverage of an issue intensifies when an issue worsens, because change is 'interesting' and gets views/clicks/whoever the fuck is still buying newspapers.

Why don't you consider the feelings of fragile lemmy users before talking about concentration camps? Poor sense of priorities!
