Amongst all the shit Ukraine seems to be the only country left with an actually functioning democracy where corrupt politicians can still face consequences.

Ten years ago, under Poroshenko, people who complained about corruption in the Ukrainian government were accused of being Russian psyops.

Five years ago, as the war heated up, journalists who brought to light self-dealing within the Ukrainian state were marked out as traitors.

Today, the weight of the corruption is putting the entire state at risk of collapse, and Zelensky is finally forced to clean house. Now we see these people as a threat to the nation, rather than the cost of doing business.

Wonder how long until the bill comes due in Poland and the Philippines and Argentina and Turkiye. Will it also be the day after the barbarians are at the gate?
