I think my old Logitech mouse had this, where you could push the wheel sideways.

I'm not sure if that is an universal thing or just a Linux / X11 kinda thing but I can scroll horizontally with my mouse wheel. Just hold shift and then scroll the wheel.
That works on my work PC, which runs Windows (at least, it does in most programs, not in Excel, oddly enough). So it seems to be a mostly universal thing.
There's a lot of mice like that. Just have to realize that apples magic mouse is a $90 glorified trackpad. But many other brands make that same style of mouse
After trying some more search terms combinations, I see two mice now from Microsoft that resemble the Magic Mouse. But I'm really struggling to find anything else?
What I'm not finding is my dream mouse, which would have an ergonomic design, lots of customizable physical buttons like my Logitech mouse, but with an additional 360° scrolling input (either a touch sensitive area or a trackball (sized large enough so dirt clogging wouldn't an issue)). It just seems like an obvious product to me; I'm surprised it doesn't seem to exist yet.
Maybe try the Nintendo Power Glove?
no idea why they dont have it. i like the separate vertical and horizontal scroll on my MX master 3 but it would be nice to have a little more control.
Well now I want the scroll wheel to be a trackball. I remember having a mouse like that in the 90s, but, like... That was the mouse. Like you didnt move the whole thing, it didn't have the ball in the bottom, it was just a large red trackball on a mouse-like base.
