This seems to be Varjo's response to the Apple Vision Pro. Its significantly cheaper than the last headset, the Varjo XR-3, going from $5,495 to $3990 and also removing the $1000 yearly subscription. Here's a reminder that Apple initially developed much of their software for the Apple Vision Pro using Varjo's XR-3's and the Apple Vision Pro was going to undercut the XR-3 at a price of $3,500.

It's also exciting that the new XR-4 is going to be allowed for individuals to purchase, instead of just locked to companies.

Quite a bold claim coming from a technology that so far has suffered from input/output delay causing nausea, warping at close range and noise in low light. I've tested both the XR-3 and the Quest 3 and while the pass-through technology has come far, I would never confuse it with my own sight.

Good to see direct competition to Apple's headset though.

Then you don't need eyes anymore? I take eyes now, VR comes ~~next week~~ "sometime in the future"

In all seriousness, the renders look pretty cool. I'd like to try them someday

It would be so cool to have time and money to mess around with this bleeding edge stuff.
