Sounds like that plan is going nowhere from other council members. Going beyond climate related though, how about Portland not spend $600 million it doesn’t have to ‘maybe’ sway the new owner from moving the team. City financed stadiums are never worth the cost, especially given moda’s location. Dude can move them down to texas for their fourth team and they can be the Austin Anywhos if it’s gonna cost that much money to keep them.

It is among the most out of date major arenas. There's a reason a lot of major music acts skip Portland.
They'll figure out a way to fund this project eventually. Seems like if they could make it the most green-friendly arena on the planet, they could somehow justify the use of those funds. But that might make it more expensive.
