We're all in this together, and a better world is possible!

This is now also a space for organizing tips for our collective survival as we confront climate change and everything else. Still no doom-posting. We're here to work together, support each other, and boldly face the future.

Rules:

  1. Familiarize yourself with the site-wide Code of Conduct

  2. No doom, no gloom, only bloom. There's plenty of room for doomerism elsewhere. This community is solely for having a positive outlook on the future and spreading good vibes.

  3. Be kind to your fellow users. This also means no arguing in the comm. Arguments and negativity are not conducive to blooming. Constructive discussion is good. No interest-policing. Support your comrades in their joy!

  4. Always share good news. We can't exactly enforce this one, but if you have good news, please share it with us! Keeping happiness and positivity to yourself is the twelfth type of liberalism.

Hell yeah

dubois-dance

You can see why Ser Keith and his Knights of the MIC table want to do away with trial by Jury.

The UK reddit thread thread is predictably filled with seething rage, mainly about the cop ~~that got hit by a sledgehammer~~ whose spine just did that.

Can't believe a British jury understood that when you defend the genocide factory, you not only deserve to get bonked, but the person who did it is innocent.

I always take everything from a country or city subreddit with a ton of salt, they all seem astroturfed to hell, or at best just populated with unhinged PMC (both kinds I guess) types. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the gammons are legit up in arms about this but reddit tends to be the worst of people by and large lmao

if you can break a spine, you are free all the time just-a-theory

Evidence that British people are infinitely cooler than Americans despite what some want to claim.

Can someone tell me if this is because the jury is cool, because the charges were too strong, because there was some paperwork or procedural thing, or something else? This just seems like a remarkable outcome

If you click the tweet link the third post says

Jury refused to convict any defendant on criminal damage. Corner not convicted of GBH.

but you can basically get that from the first post as well.
