buy trump's affordability message?

in this fucking economy?

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Why anyone would buy it is beyond me. Pedonald recently said it was made up, a "hoax" and so on.

I mean, I get why the dead-ender reprogrammable meat bots would buy it, since they are glued to Bullshit Mountain Media all day long, but....

[–] Madison420@lemmy.world 2 points 6 hours ago

He also said he wanted housing costs to go up, I wonder who that might benefit.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 4 points 7 hours ago

ORLY, they are not buying the bullshit that Biden handed them the worstest economy evar and they are just here to clean it all up, LOL?

Remember, in the fall of 2024, we had an economy that was called the envy of the world. And then Donvict was elected in the fall, and started demolishing everything in 2025.

The dumbfucks that sit there and lap up these assclowns spinning unbelievable bullshit really do amaze me with their level of idiocy. What fucking moron thinks his policies are helping them? Unless you are in the upper 1% of the 1%, his policies are probably actively hurting you.

Ffs. He's a rich dude supporting other rich dudes. He doesn't give a fuck about you or me and his statements about affordability are obviously and demonstrably out of touch.

There was a time when hating the rich was something that brought people together.

I'm not so sure. There has always been a disappointing amount of people that buy into Worthington's Law. I've been experiencing that type all my life but never had a word for it until much later.

What goes along with that is a phenomenon known as "last place aversion", and it's been confirmed in experiments where people will give the person with the most money their share, because they don't want anyone else to jump ahead of them. And that's even before you bring in the component of race...

I'm not even sure what his "affordability message" is. "Suck it up, how hard can it be? Besides, ICE needs another 100 billion"?

[–] TheFogan@programming.dev 9 points 10 hours ago

Worse....

Look I can name 3 products that are cheaper today than they were in 2025... Didn't you see that walmarts thanksgiving bundle was a few bucks less than before, and they only had to downsize everything, give half as much food, and replace name brands with store brands. Your just cherry picking by talking about the 90% of things that are more expensive, and how much your total grocery bill is. Also it's all Biden's fault inflation skyrocketed under him, and when I said I'd fix it on day 1, I meant day 1 of year 3.

Plus all that tarrif money is going to trickle down to you any minute now... we're just racking in so much money from the tarrifs they don't know what to do with it.

I thought it was "it's a hoax". Being serious

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 7 hours ago

That was the message just a short while ago.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 7 hours ago

Donbald was just calling it a hoax a short while ago. But with his reprogrammable meatbots, he can just shake the Etch-a-Sketch and their memories are wiped.
