How AI is destroying research

transforming as in turning it into slop. Before AI it pretty much was low quality slop, from what ive heard on some yt videos, they explained how some papers are just fluff pieces. plus the amount papers a potential hire for a faculty have to write is in the dozens on thier CVs, so likely they arnt looking for quality, but Quantity OF papers. some research papers i read are quite low info or repeated from other research

Back to hand written manuscripts only!

In before people let AI write their papers, then copy them by hand.

That's ok, it'll take them a while to write them out by hand, and they can really think on what utter clowns they are while they do it.

Well deserved catastrophe. You're paid to work, writing grants, emails and classes is your fucking job.

Now, it's obvious for anyone that the academic picture in Northern Europe is one of cronyism and nepotism, so it's rarely the actually competent and hard working scientists that end up progressing in their career. Playing politics (and sucking the right dicks) takes time away from the bench. What I'm wondering is how can someone be a professor and tech illiterate to the point of making this big of a fuck up. Also, why wasn't he sacked? Oh, right, he has connections in npg so it's good for the University's impact factor and citation rating.
