With 789 cases and counting, the current measles outbreak in South Carolina is now the nation’s largest since measles was officially eliminated in 2000. The highly contagious virus “is circulating in the community, increasing the risk of exposure and the risk of infection for those who are not immune due to vaccination or natural infection,” the state’s Department of Public Health says on its website.

Measles is spreading especially quickly among unvaccinated individuals—692 of the South Carolina cases are in unvaccinated individuals—just as it did in the large outbreak in Texas last year, which ultimately sickened 762, hospitalized 99, and killed two children.

I still can't believe that during covid, MAGATs would act like anyone who advocated for vaccinations, was a combination of Jack Kevorkian and Josef Mengele....meanwhile, this is their idea of good public health and safety? What the actual fuck is wrong with these people?

They actively rebel against good and decency because they feel that's an anathema to their personal freedom. And because they're complete dipshits, they have no notion of consequences. Even if they're dying of covid they wonder: "why me?"

Probably among the roughly 25% of American adults that can barely read let alone know who Mengele or Kevorkian are

Basically the 20th century was focused on making sure that nobody was ever uncomfortable. Cars, air conditioning, etc. The 21st century is focused on making sure that nobody has to feel wrong.
