> A training center serving hundreds of Palestinians in the West Bank could be shut down in the coming days by Israeli authorities, putting students’ education at risk, the UN Palestinian refugee agency said on Friday.

The Qalandiya Training Center, which provides 350 young male students from across the West Bank with skills like plumbing and vehicle maintenance, faces possible closure as the land it occupies may be expropriated by Israeli authorities, UNRWA stated.

“If the center were to be forcibly closed, and we do fear that this could happen within days, there is no educational alternative for these students. So you’re depriving a large cohort of Palestine refugees of economic opportunities,” Jonathan Fowler, UNRWA’s spokesperson, said.
