Friendly PSA: if you consistently wake up beat or more exhausted than when you went to sleep, you might have sleep apnoe. It's characterized by having breaks in breathing during sleep; the probability to have it rises with being overweight. The repeated oxygen deprivation is very unhealthy. These days there are smartphone apps that can help detect stops in breathing during sleep; in doubt, see your doctor to get a sleep analysis done.

It's amazing to me that CPAPs require a prescription, at least in the US. They're just air pumps.

Everyone else I know who has gotten one has described them as life changing. My wife says I snore less after getting one and I'm sure it's causing health benefits, but I feel almost no different after starting to use it.

The one plus I have consciously noticed is a psychological one: when I put it on, it's like I'm signalling to my brain that it's time for sleep. I don't fall asleep immediately, but it does help me relax, especially if I have some other anxiety going on.

The STOP-BANG questionnaire is good to get at least some idea of if you have sleep apnea or not. Def talk to your doctor about it! Untreated sleep apnea can lead to some pretty bad health problems later on (a-fib, coronary disease, stokes, hypertension) in addition to just being tired as shit all the time
