It's amazing to me that CPAPs require a prescription, at least in the US. They're just air pumps.
Everyone else I know who has gotten one has described them as life changing. My wife says I snore less after getting one and I'm sure it's causing health benefits, but I feel almost no different after starting to use it.
The one plus I have consciously noticed is a psychological one: when I put it on, it's like I'm signalling to my brain that it's time for sleep. I don't fall asleep immediately, but it does help me relax, especially if I have some other anxiety going on.
