Birdbath getting a lot of use.
Pidgeons, wattles, ibis even a willy wagtail all co-existing.
No water wars. Just thirsty and everyone getting along.
We could learn something from them.
Will try and get a piccy later.
I hope we're all the civilised in say, 10ish years lol
I have been for a swim and had a meeting with potential new trainer. Productive Saturday morning
I am drunk doo doo doo
SAMESIES
How did the wedding go?
Still here ๐ thank you for the dress!!! It's been an absolute hit! Forever indebted to you ๐๐
Goes to 11 so a few hours left. Cried at the ceremony ofc! The reception is super chill
Mr Year 7s school books sorted. He's so excited about the colourful folders!
Hope the year goes well for him!!
I remember being the exact same way in Year 7! Every year, I was so excited about getting the books and choosing the colours for each subject. I hope maths is blue and English is red.
sending lots of love and good wishes for the start of the school year
Catching up with a mate later, changing up the strays water.
And melting into the couch like some kind of blob creature.
Good luck out there!
Ted has been given his sedative, now to wait and then brush him
๐ฌ
You can do it Ted! You donโt want to go back to your signature mullet.
bribes with Churu ๐ญ
Bro and SIL + ankle biter apparently coming down here today. Really can't be f'd dealing w/ whatever rubbish pops up and I'm certainly not cooking or cleaning up.
๐
Are we all ready for the big hot today?
Nah dang it I think I'll have to go out and grab some small shopping pouts. It's Tuesday I'm not looking forward to ๐ณ
Nope. I have some essential shopping to do - as soon as the washing machines finishes this cycle. After that, I am aestivating until about 10 pm. Yes, watermelon is on the shopping list. The real nasty will be next Tuesday I reckon - and it's a week when a lot of people are either going back to work or preparing for the end of the school horrordays. Gonna be grim that day.
Beach and groceries done and back home. About to pop the grapes in the freezer pop on the AC then I am going back to bed. Had sick tum all week so bailing on the morning
nearly, just have to dash down street
then it's home for an inside day
Another thing that happened during the show the other night is I rode to the station to go in, then I saw a nice splatter vinyl of the new album on the merch table. I wanted it but i didn't have my pannier bags on the bike at the station.
I eventually figured out I could use the shirt I got as a tote bag. Stick the vinyl in and tie up the bottom so I could put my arm through the sleeves to ride.
whilst this was a great bit of ingenuity, the real lesson is to always have a pannier bag on your bike, even when you think you don't need them
I just received a notice of rent increase for next year, it is only about 1% increase. I'm very happy with that. Plus a new lease, so I can lock in my Autumn garden plans.
I am considering an ice cold mineral water or something a little harder rn.
Ted's sleeping now, I got so many mats and knots out ๐ฌ poor guy
groceries done
then garage sale with miss seagoon, lots of good household appliances have been bought ๐
Too much screen time gives me headaches and I canโt concentrate on a book. Nooo. Doing spider climb finger exercises on my stupid ukulele with my stupid hands to pass the time. I wish Iโd known you could get tiny silent practice guitars.
It doesnโt matter though because I have no plan to pursue either. I donโt want any kind of pressure or to put in the effort to practice.
Kitchen tribulations: Miniest wants to learn to cook things, which I am totally ok with, but the problem is getting a stove lighter they can operate. They're all childproof! Tough for me to operate let alone an almost 12yo.
it's been over two weeks not taking aspirin for my back
all the aspirin I was taking must have treating/masking other conditions
I have had two headaches and I think I have some arthritis starting in some fingers
life is weird
Iโm looking at buying an apartment for my own living needs. Itโs my first time doing this. What sort of things should I be looking for during inspections and what questions should I ask?
During inspections: mould, air con or lack thereof, floor coverings, number and location of electrical outlets, orientation of exterior windows, internet connection points, locks and security (recent replacement is sus), hot water supply, laundry facilities, cupboard space, storage cage (recent lock damage is sus). Also, will you need help to get fridge etc. up any stairs or is there a lift.
During pre-inspection data collection: owners corp and annual fees, insurance costs, rates ditto, access to public transport/parking. Also floor plan WITH MEASUREMENTS which are never quite accurate but do give a good idea of what furniture you'll need. If you bike around town, is there secure parking? Also, who cleans out gutters, washes windows and maintains the common areas (stairwells, parking garage etc.) and bbq area if you are lucky. Call me ultra picky, but I'd also look up whether the location is included in a flood plan, bushfire plan etc. Not so important if renting, but purchasing you need to know this sort of thing for insurance purposes.
Read the section 32 and body corp minutes to see if there's major works that've been delayed. Could easily be some massive major issue that's been kicked down the road for the next person to deal with. Once enough original tenants have left suddenly everyone needs to find $30k to chip in to fix the problem.
I wouldn't touch anything with south facing windows. I've live in too many places and south facing windows make my brain sad. I'd rather deal with the western suns heat.
