Breadtube if it didn't suck.

Post videos you genuinely enjoy and want to share, duh. Celebrate the diversity of interests shared by chapochatters by posting a deep dive into Venetian kelp farming, I dunno. Also media criticism, bite-sized versions of left-wing theory, all the stuff you expected. But I am curious about that kelp farming thing now that you mentioned it.

Low effort / spam videos might be removed, especially weeb content.

There is a cytube that you can paste videos into and watch with whoever happens to be around. It's open submission unless there's something important to commandeer it with at the time.

A weekly watch party happens every Saturday (Sunday down under), with video nominations Saturday-Monday, voting Monday-Thursday. See the pin for whatever stage it's currently in.

What do we think the agent provocateurs are getting paid, or are they in it for the love of the game?

[–] QinShiHuangsShlong@hexbear.net 20 points 1 week ago

The same as a standard ICE piggie I'd assume.

Paid but often they're people who don't want to go to jail so like an ultimatum. A group of us last year rooted out a guy with serious, disgusting CSA charges against him who had worked his way into leadership of a local protest movement. Once him and a few others got pushed out, we got the national org to stop working with police.

Was the guy verifiably a plant? Can't say, could just be a clout chasing pedo, but he fits the profile. You have to ask why someone like that isnt in jail years after he was charged

Good clip. Don't like this dude at all though he's saying a lot of pacifying shit and saying a lot of things that are outright dangerous that will get MLs and anarchists accused of being feds.

Yeah Kyle is a LIB but every now and then he's got ok clips.

I saw a clip of him the other day going "oh, that's why we need gulags"

Is this really an ok clip?

He shows footage of ICE collecting an undercover agent, talks about how you need to be on the lookout for agents that will ruin the optics of your protest... and then he says that the fascist administration doesn't care about optics because they're going to find a way to do the same thing either way.

He's tripping over respectability while begrudgingly admitting that respectability doesn't have any effect. If the performance of "peaceful" doesn't matter, then you might as well not make a division around it.

No good cops, no bad protestors. That's the line. Even if someone does turn out to be a federal agent, who cares. They're not spying on you or forcing you to do anything. Just ignore them or tell others to ignore them. Bringing a flag and burning it in public is not a crime. But if you start to gatekeep around what is allowed at a protest, you will kill the momentum.

It doesn't matter whether a flag is destroyed or a window is smashed or a franchise is burnt down. The anger is justified; we are taking a stance against state repression and we weaken our stance if we cross the line again to cede legitimacy.

Clip as in footage, not his analyisis. I see it pop up in feeds before other media. Suppose I should have sought the op instead.

it takes almost nothing to be accused of being a fed; i lost track of the number of times i was back the 90's just because they didn't like how my neurodivergent ass didn't react the way they expected.
