Really normal and healthy behavior from a perfectly functional company.

I cannot believe one of these isn't beyond good and evil 2. Imagine how soul crushing it would be for the game you are working on to be deemed more trouble than bge2.

Ubisoft cancelling the literal one game I might have bought from them. OK.

PoP really can't catch a break from these clowns

The Lost Crown was pretty good though.

It was great, so they dissolved the studio and moved all the incredible talent who worked on it to the money-making franchises

[–] DebatableRaccoon@lemmy.ca 1 points 3 months ago

Didn't do it for me, sadly.

Ubisoft did the world a favor.

I wish fans wouldn't have reacted this negative in the first reveal of the Remake. I said it before, this will probably lead into cancelling the project and I was right. Even if the graphics didn't look fantastical good, I would rather played that version over not playing it. I never played Sands of Time and was waiting for this Remake. I'm a bit sad this is the outcome, but was expected (at least by me)...

Highly doubt its about user reception, rather that its more about stonks.

[–] thingsiplay@lemmy.ml 2 points 3 months ago (1 children)

And what do you think caused the stonks? The user reception was so bad that they had to pull it back and rework it. It is all about user reception.

[–] belated_frog_pants@beehaw.org 4 points 3 months ago

Mmm stonks is more about shareholders demanding faster returns. This isnt a cut and dry supply and demand thing (markets havent been supply and demand since the stock market started), its shareholder feelings and ai investment shit.

Would love for any of it to have a shred of logic in it, but if games were for gamers and not stockholders IaP wouldn't exist etc

That’s gamers for ya. If it’s any consolation, it seems gamers had nothing to do with its troubled development

[–] thingsiplay@lemmy.ml 1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I'm not talking about the development, but specifically the reception of the first trailer.
