Ok let’s just start by banning X in the EU and move on to facebook, etc. if he does not come to his senses.

[–] a_non_monotonic_function@lemmy.world 21 points 3 months ago (2 children)

That would be awesome.

Ban Tesla, too, just for fun.

[–] spechter@feddit.org 3 points 3 months ago

Have cars from US brands pay whatever todays tarif is on top at the pump.

Aren't Nazimobiles already banned in a lot of European countries because they don't meet their traffic safety guidelines?

[–] Blackmist@feddit.uk 3 points 3 months ago

The bog standard Teslas are pretty common in most of Europe.

Pretty sure the Cybertruck is barred though. Doesn't meet EU safety standards.

True, as much as I hate the idea of collateral damage, that's what everyone one of us has in his/her sphere of influence. If not to make a point (which I find secondary), then to start supporting our shared homeland. After all, the strongest country on our continent isn’t France, Germany, etc. It’s Europe - or at least, it could be. But only if we start acting like it.

"Trump will tank the US economy even more if he doesn't get what he wants." That'll punish them! What a fucking idiot.

[–] treno_rosso@feddit.org 21 points 3 months ago

Oh no! Anyway...

[–] starlinguk@lemmy.world 14 points 3 months ago

He's punishing the countries that sent officers to scout out exercises in Greenland. He doesn't seem to realise those exercises will involve more than those countries.

Quiet, Piggy!

So I guess the trade deal that would have the EU buy billions worth of military good from the US is off the table then. Trump has managed to break it before it was signed.

[–] nocteb@feddit.org 8 points 3 months ago

The art of the deal - at this point it's more like abstract art.

[–] hellothere@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 months ago

Bigly genius!

[–] fox2263@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

Wasn’t it also a trillion in investment or something

[–] Tar_alcaran@sh.itjust.works 8 points 3 months ago

So, to open the threat, they're going to drop the current by a third?

Remember:

TACO

[–] vdbm@lemmy.world 7 points 3 months ago

It is the first time that the US targets a select number of EU countries, rather than the EU as a whole. This makes it highly vulnerable to court challenges and at the WTO, unless there is a declared national security emergency because of a direct threat from those target countries (of course beyond a post on TruthSocial).
