God dammit, we finally got rid of the last Kissinger.

Why are Jared Kusher's hands in everything.

I can only imagine the hell that would come if Hunter Biden was in a bunch of random committees and influencing foreign policy and signing business deals. They got all upset over a bunch of made up bullshit while what they accused him of doing Kushner is doing in plain sight.

It would be funny if it wasn't so fucked.

Even in the 1940s there were at least some dissenting voices. It wasn't all sycophants.

One that comes to mind is Leo Amery, the British Empire's secretary of state to India. In 1944, he told Churchill that there wasn't much of a difference between his outlook and Hitler's, while Churchill was engineering famine / genocide in India. British engineered famines killed a total of 100 million in India.

The outcome may still the same but at least there were voices in the Empire saying what the fuck back then. Now it's just a bunch of people that are bloodthirsty and looking acquire land.

I'm sure all the "wtf" I said will materially help the hundred of thousands of dead Palestinians.

US voters not voting Harris was an enormous, almost unfathomable mistake. And yet, here we are.

Yep.

I think Harris losing against a known rapist, racist, misogynist, fraud and criminal is an enormous, almost unfathomably pathetic. And yet, here we are.

Yep.

the democratic nominee was joe biden originally, remember that. The DNC thought the best fight against fascism was 2023 joe biden. Their second best option was kamala harris.

The "Board of Peace" is a bit more symbolic. The actual work will be done by the NCAG which is led by and comprises of Palestinians.

The BoP functions a bit more like an oversight committee would in a business. Not handling the day-to-day, but monitoring progress and checking for violations. It kind of makes sense that that entity doesn't have Palestinians in it, as the board needs to make sure all parties adhere to the peace plan. This necessitates it to be a third-party (in this case the US, as decided by the US). It should be mentioned that there's also a Gaza Executive Board which also has Turkish, Qatari, UAE and UN representatives, which focuses on the operations of the NCAG.

So yeah, definitely US bias leading to the BoP having largely US officials (and cockroach Blair for some reason), but it's seemingly not the worst thing ever here or evidence of an anti-Palestinian bias.

Afaik, no Israelis are involved in any board/committee.

Tony Blair checking for Israeli violations is no problem?

[–] ChairmanMeow@programming.dev 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

It's a pretty braindead choice, but I'm not sure this board checks the Israelis in the first place. According to the deal, they are supposed to remove themselves from Palestinian land, so they should be outside of the territory the board oversees.

Obviously actual Palestinians can't be trusted in that position, you need a bunch of conservative white dudes.

[–] ChairmanMeow@programming.dev 1 points 2 months ago

Palestinians would be checking if Palestinians are sticking to the peace deal. It's not a good idea to do that, and that has nothing to do with them being Palestinians. You need a 3rd party.

In case Russia and Ukraine brokered peace, you wouldn't staff an oversight committee on the peace deal with Russians or Ukrainians either. You'd get an outside referee to do so.

Although my first choice wouldn't be a bunch of conservative white dudes either, mind.

Agree. They should've nabbed some bourgeois hitlers from middle east, that'd fix the main issue
