Why would the H be included?
Because "ch" is the first sound in the word.
And "ko" is the first sound in "ko-re-an". But we just take the first letter.
Just like "ja" is the first sound in "Japanese" but it's also "jpop".
It's the first syllable, but "k" and "o" are two separate sounds. "J" and "a" are as well. The "c" and "h" in "China" are not separate sounds.
