A community for comic lovers who just want to get away from politics and gloom and doom.
- Rule 1 - Be civil.
- Rule 2 - Don't be uncivil.
Posting guidelines:
- No political comics. This generally includes anything referencing whatever bullshit Trump is up to, but also includes the megacorps. Essentially if the comic is about how the world today sucks, it doesn't belong here.
- Where possible, tag the title with [comic name]. This refers to the name of the artist or overall comic, not the title of the specific strip.
- Tag NSFW / NSFL / AI content accordingly.

MODERATORS
Hey folks! NPCs has blown up since it got started just 3 days ago. There's obviously a large desire for the sort of content I've been posting, and people are loving it. (Discussions about what constitutes politics notwithstanding).
I've got a problem, however! And it's one I hope you can help me with. It takes a lot of time and effort to be the main content supplier for the comm, and it's not sustainable for me. So, I'm asking for volunteers to help out with just 2-3 minutes of your time daily.
What I have in mind: A group of people (ideally, about 20 or so) who can commit 2-3 minutes daily to finding a comic they like and share it to the community.
That's it! Just read a comic or two, find one that suits this community, and post it here for us to enjoy. I'm not asking for mods at the moment, so don't worry about that.
FAQ:
- What if I can't do it every day, or miss a day? I'm not going to hold you to it! We'll do this on a best effort basis, if you can't make it nobody's going to criticise you for it. Even 1 post a week is appreciated.
- Can I post more than one? Sure! But consistency is more important than quantity.
- What constitutes 'politics'?
Sigh. We'll probably work out a formal definition at some point, but for now you probably have a good idea of my definition just from browsing the comm.

You could get the mod for oglaf to have their bot post here. Very few of those comics are political…but there are other issues you might have with them lol
I'm fine with NSFW content. I'm not sure about the idea of having daily feeds of comics that are already being posted elsewhere at the same time - would welcome thoughts on it.
My 2c - isn't it a bit weird / spammy?
I myself dislike seeing the same thing posted repeatedly to different comms, but that's really a product of my 9wn browsing habits, and the fact that I'm too lazy to try out one of the clients that aggregates cross-posts. I'm not sure how the "official cross-post" function on Lemmy works, that triggers posts to be specifically listed as "cross-posted from XXX", but I think that's the best way to go about it.
Yeah, I think it’s a tad unnecessary. I dislike serving repeats on the feed.

Trying to find any major piece of media that is completely apolitical is virtually impossible. The point of this channel isn't to nitpick whether or not some specific work is political; it's to have funnies that aren't related to current affairs.
I just think it's funny that op can post uncle sam and still pretend this comm is in any way apolitical. XD
You just think it is funny to be contratan, when you're not even posting or collaborating with the community.

I'd personally argue that using that meme without a level of political irony makes you an idiot, but that's just my correct opinion.
