General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

Key bits:

The report referenced a match between Maccabi Tel Aviv and West Ham that never happened - pressed by MPs last week, Chief Constable Craig Guildford insisted that the force "do not use AI", instead blaming a Google search

In an earlier appearance at the Home Affairs Committee, he had blamed "social media scraping" for the incorrect information

However, in a letter to the Home Affairs Select Committee released today he admits the mistake was the "result of a use of Microsoft Co Pilot" - an AI tool

Could have just pointed to the riot their ultra's did in Amsterdam when they were beating up Palestinian taxi drivers and such https://electronicintifada.net/content/how-cctv-footage-maccabi-riots-amsterdam-went-missing/51047

and the previous fines that even israel imposed for their fan's behaviour https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/sports/2022-04-08/ty-article/.premium/in-first-israels-national-soccer-association-fines-a-club-for-homophobic-chants/00000180-5ba8-db1e-a1d4-dfe973be0000

This AI bullshit just gives ammo to zionist to claim the banning was antisemitic rather than a legitimate move to protect people from ultra's who have proven to be violent(and those ultras from the inevitable retaliation which they'd then use to claim to be the victims and not the initial instigators of the violence), fucking pigs can't do anything right

Potentially lying to parliament committes should come with perjury charges. AI slop will mysteriously dissapear at that stage

It is perjury, but… It’s complicated. . Essentially it may be legally impossible to guarantee a fair trial held in Parliament, while the Bill of Rights prevents parliamentary offences being tried in external courts.

It should do, but AI slop is everywhere.

The decision to ban away fans from this game is starting to look more and more incompetent. I have no idea if it was the correct decision, and I don't trust the judgement of the people who made that decision. Clearly they did not do adequate investigation.

Dunno why they needed to make up stuff with AI. Plenty of evidence from last year in amsterdam.

Certain professions should be banned from using AI until the underlying model no longer hallucinates(I.e. is not based on LLM). Namely civil servants and any legal or law adjacent profession. We can't afford to have civic life controlled by buggy software. There's a new Post Office type scandal brewing here.
